Novartis celebrates 21st annual Community Partnership Day with over 24,500 associates volunteering in their local communities

Community Partnership Day symbolises the company’s commitment to improving people’s lives and serving our local communities
Over 200 UK employees are participating, supporting our local communities across our four sites

Frimley, May 11, 2017 – In celebration of their 21st annual Community Partnership Day, more than 24,500 Novartis associates across six continents and 52 countries will be making a difference in the communities where they live and work. Novartis associates volunteering their time to support social institutions and nonprofit organizations represents more than 196,000 hours of combined community service.
Over 200 UK employees are participating, supporting local projects varying from sorting charity donations, gardening and decorating at a local school to helping at local community centres.
In the UK, employees are participating on the following projects:
Sorting donations at Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice, an adult hospital caring for terminally ill people and painting the Farnham shop
Hosting a tea party for Sandhurst Day Centre, a charity working to provide services to enhance the lives of older people in our community
Sorting donations at the Just 4 Kids charity shop which raises money to help deaf children in the community
Volunteers will help with clearing weeds and widen gateways ready for the new path surfacing at Blackwater Valley Countryside Partnership
Volunteers are working at Carwarden House Community School, for young people with learning difficulties by shredding trees and general gardening so students can enjoy the outside space in summer. They will also be painting the school to help maintain the facilities for the students
Volunteers will help the British Heart Foundation by sorting donations at a local store
Running a food bank donation scheme and a children’s toys, books and clothes donation for Just4Kids across all four sites
