Project Name: The assessment of care of patients with Ankylosing Spondylitis (AS) within Warwick Hospital
Joint Working Project Summary:
The joint working project aims to develop and populate a database to conduct a retrospective clinical audit of 100 AS patients currently under the care of Warwick Hospital, who started biologic therapy between 2014 and 2018. The database can then be kept by the Rheumatology department for the Hospitals use as necessary thereafter. The Project aims to audit 100 AS biologics patients against NICE spondyloarthropathy guidelines, any patients identified as being sub-optimally managed may then be further reviewed in clinic.
There are four key objectives:
To establish the current care received by the Cohort
To evaluate patient care against national guidelines
To understand the level of current patient care provided to AS patients by SWFT
To review patients identified within the audit who require any patient-level actions in the Clinics
Expected Patient Outcomes for this Project:
The information and data output resulting from this Project may support potential service changes within the rheumatology department at Warwick Hospital. Such changes will look to improve patient care and support the ultimate objective of all patients receiving the optimal level of care described in national guidelines, which will lead to improved patient outcomes.
