The mission of the Alcon Academy is to facilitate educational excellence, to enable learning at all levels and optimise patient outcomes and care in Ophthalmology. The Alcon Academy has a bespoke wet lab designed to enhance learning by simulating surgical procedures. The Alcon Academy also has a dry lab and lecture theatre.
Upon approval, these facilities can be made available for use by NHS institutions by means of a Medical and Educational Goods and Services (MEGS) grant. NHS organisations wishing to apply to use the Alcon Academy facilities should complete the application form below.
To be considered, applications for MEGS grants must enhance patient care or benefit the NHS, in compliance with the Prescription Medicines Code of Practice Authority (PMCPA) Code of Practice. Please note that use of the Alcon Academy facilities is a benefit-in-kind and this information will be disclosed against the Healthcare Organisation on the Association of the British Pharmaceutical Industry (ABPI) disclosure platform.
