First pharma company to sign United Nations Global Compact

In 2000, Novartis was the first pharmaceutical company to sign the United Nations Global Compact set up to help achieve ‘globalization with a human face’ and extend the benefits of globalisation to all. Novartis and other signed-up companies agree to support ten principles in the areas of human rights, labour, the environment and anti-corruption.

  • Fortune magazine named Novartis the World’s Most Admired pharmaceutical company (2007)
  • The Financial Times has ranked Novartis among the World’s Most Respected companies (2003)
