Novartis Biotechnology Leadership Camp

The Novartis Biotechnology Leadership Camp (BioCamp) is a pioneering three-day seminar that brings the biotechnology sector closer to talented young people from universities in the UK and across the world.  Students attending gain insights on current and future challenges in the sector and acquire first-hand experience on how to manage a biotechnology company, equipping them to become successful biotech managers and entrepreneurs.

The History of BioCamp

Since 2004, BioCamp has been sponsored annually by several Novartis affiliates, and in 2007, the first European BioCamp was held in Switzerland. This year's European BioCamp seminar was held in August, at the Novartis Campus in Basel, Switzerland.

Benefits of Attending BioCamp

At the seminar, students will have the opportunity to learn from leading biotech experts, interact with professionals and work together with other students from various cultures. Students will also have the opportunity to explore career opportunities and network with global leaders in the biotechnology sector.

International BioCamp 2008, Hong Kong

International BioCamp 2008 brought together approximately 50 postgraduate students in science or business-related disciplines.  The 3-day seminar featured lectures and working sessions led by world-class scientists and successful business leaders on current scientific and management issues facing the biotech industry.

Participants networked with their peers from around the world and worked as part of a team on a case study focused on a real-life biotechnology challenge, with expert panel members serving as facilitators.
